Hello from the end of our last full week of a normal routine before Spring Break starts later this week. Our school district switched to year-round school this year so my kids are about to have 18 continuous days out of the classroom. YIKES.
To be honest, I’m having a bit of a week where I just don’t feel like it. I don’t feel like reading. I don’t feel like texting a friend. I don’t feel like taking a walk. I don’t feel like cooking dinner. I’m fine, just tired… so this will be short.
R - Reading
The only way I could get through The Atlas Paradox by Olivie Blake was by switching to the Kindle accessibility narration by Alexa.
Wednesday night my daughter and I finished our bedtime read-aloud of Karen's Haircut (Baby-Sitters Little Sister Graphic Novel #7). It dealt with some pretty tricky feelings about self-worth and friendship which was a good starting point for some deeper conversations.
I listened to The Breakup Vacation by Anna Gracia. It has terrible reviews on Goodreads. Overall, it was just okay. I don’t understand all of the 1 ⭐ reviews, though.
Ender’s Game is just as good as I remember so far.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith on Prime Video. It’s like if the 2005 film had a cooler, more artsy older sister. Donald Glover brings his signature wit and comedic timing to the story and I find his character a strong match for Maya Erskine. I’m not as familiar with her work but I’m looking forward to watching more of this series.

Oof Kuleigh, I feel you. I feel like I’m being stretched past my limits. And 18 DAYS?!? Woof. Does your area have camps to accommodate for such a long period out of school?
I had to DNF Atlas Paradox. I just really struggled with getting into it and caring enough about the characters.
I feel you! Hopefully you can find some good pockets of rest this weekend!
