When it comes to my holiday TBR list I feel like I’m always at least a year behind. I inevitably buy more Christmasy books that I can read in a month and then put them off for the next year. Here’s my attempt at a realistic holiday reading list.
A Winter in New York by Josie Silver — A young chef stumbles on a secret family recipe that might lead her to the love—and life—she’s been looking for in this stunning novel. The synopsis for this reminds me of a Christmas movie I watched last year, Something from Tiffany’s. Josie Silver is one of my auto-buy authors so I hope this one lives up to the hype. I’m planning to read this book first and then share it with my younger sister (who is obsessed with NYC).
Kissing Kosher by Jean Meltzer — Keeping with the foodie Christmas theme, I’m looking forward to this rivals-to-lovers romance featuring love in a Jewish bakery. This book is by the same author as The Matzah Ball.
It Happened One Christmas by Chantel Guertin — A charming and rollicking holiday rom-com about a big-city film director who must convince the dreamy, yet grumpy, mayor of a small town to give her the permit to shoot her Christmas movie in his idyllic hometown. This is the time of year I really lean into all the Hallmark movie vibes. I really enjoyed this book by Chantel Guertin earlier this year so I hope this one is just as charming.
The Wake-Up Call by Beth O’Leary — Two hotel receptionists and arch-rivals find a collection of old wedding rings and compete to return them to their owners, discovering their own love story along the way. O’Leary is another auto-buy author for me. I just know this is going to be the perfect cozy novel for December.
If by some Christmas miracle I do happen to get through this list, there are a few other audiobooks I saved for later in my library apps.
The Book Club Hotel by Sarah Morgan / Time to Shine by Rachel Reid / Christmas with the Lords by Hannah Langdon
I read an ARC copy of A December to Remember by Jenny Bayliss back in September and I highly recommend it if you’re looking for something other than a traditional holiday romance. It’s a cozy novel that captures the feeling of the season. You can read my full review here.

I had no idea there was a new Josie Silver novel! One Day in December is one of my favorites. Definitely going to check it out. Thanks for the rec!
