Books I'm Prioritizing in the New Year
It’s that time of year again where I begin to think about resolutions and intentions for the upcoming year. One thing that’s been weighing heavy on my mind is how to set goals for my reading and prioritize the books I actually want to read in the New Year. There will always be more books on my TBR list than I’m able to get to so it’s best for me to come up with a plan and allow some flexibility for mood reading too.
I think I’ve managed to come up with a few ways I want to guide my reading in the new year. So far my priorities are:
2022 Reading Priorities
Catch up on backlist titles — This means actually tackling my book cart and previous year’s TBR piles… on my Kindle too!
Read through all the books I’ve won in giveaways — I owe it to the authors and publishers who were so generous to host giveaways to actually read through their books and post my reviews.
Read at least one parenting book each month — Parenting is a journey and one aspect of my life I’m always looking to improve upon so parenting books are an absolute must. I’ve already picked out my 12 titles.
Focus on genres I really enjoy — Last year I rediscovered my love for fantasy and mystery novels. I definitely want to make time for books that are FUN to read.
Utilize the library for new releases — No more buying books. I’m committing to reading through my shelves and using the library for any new releases that are absolute must reads in 2022. I set this goal every year and never succeed. I mean it this year, though. I have enough and I’m embracing that abundance mindset to save some money at home.
Now that I have a method, let’s get to the actual books. These are the books I’d like to read in 2022.
