Parenting Books to Pick Up Now
I’ve always loved a good non-fiction book and as a mother, parenting and self-help books are always on my radar. In 2021 alone I squeezed in 8 books on parenting (mostly thanks to audiobooks). They ran the gamut from pregnancy to baby sleep to toddler discipline.
When I read a parenting book, I’m usually looking for help and knowledge on a particular subject. Toddler discipline has been a struggle so in my desperation I’ve learned that maybe I have more work to do as a parent than my toddler does as a child. These are the 8 parenting books I read that are worth checking out:
Potty Training in 3 Days: The Step-by-Step Plan for a Clean Break from Dirty Diapers by Brandi Brucks — This is the book we used to successfully implement potty training in our own home. It worked like a charm with our 2.5 year old daughter.
Babywise: Giving Your Infant the Gift of Nighttime Sleep by Robert Bucknam
Bringing Up Bebe: One American Mother Discovers the Wisdom of French Parenting by Pamela Druckerman
What No One Tells You: A Guide to Your Emotions from Pregnancy to Motherhood by Alexandra Sacks and Catherine Birndorf
The Read-Aloud Handbook by Jim Trelease
The Montessori Baby: A Parent's Guide to Nurturing Your Baby with Love, Respect, and Understanding by Simone Davies and Junnifa Uzodike
No-Drama Discipline: The Whole-Brain Way to Calm the Chaos and Nurture Your Child's Developing Mind by Daniel J. Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson
How to Stop Losing Your Sh*t with Your Kids: A Practical Guide to Becoming a Calmer, Happier Parent by Carla Naumburg
