I’ve always loved paper goods but my perfectionist tendencies mean I have a hard time sticking to one planner or journal throughout the year. I’m hoping to take a more analog approach to 2025 and start a daily journaling practice. As much as I rely on my Outlook calendar for work and my Google calendar to organize our home schedules, I can’t help but write things down by hand throughout the day. I love checking things off my to-do list, making notes of special events, and tracking books I’ve read. When I’m long gone, maybe my written notes will give my future kin a look into my life.
On My Desk
This is everything I keep on my desk at work to pull from throughout the week.
The Everygirl x Day Designer 2024-25 Weekly/Monthly Planner - 8"x5" Wirebound in Blissfully Yellow. I have a standing desk so my space is limited. I love this smaller-size planner. It has just enough room for meetings and appointments on one side and my to-do list on the other.

A Gal With Lots of Ideas Spiral Notebook - 9”x7” with 160 circle-the-date pages. I love this type of notebook for meeting notes! This particular notebook has a checkbox section so I can check off action items.

On My Nightstand
These are the notebooks I’m keeping on my nightstand this year to journal on paper before reading to sleep. I’m keeping up with the weather and the Merriam-Webster word of the day in my Nolty planner. Need some bullet journal ideas? I’ve got a Pinterest board for that.

In My Hand
I sent my friend a Snapchat of a goal list the other day and she said, “Your handwriting is so good, no wonder you love pens!” And it’s true! I love writing.
My favorite everyday pen, the 0.5 mm Pilot Precise V5 RT Retractable Rollerball Pen.
My second favorite everyday pen (in a fun color) Uni-ball One Gel Pen in Cappuccino Brown.
Another brown ink pen for journaling, the Writech Dual Color Multi Pen in Milk Tea & Black. So far I love how lightweight this pen is.
I wanted a thicker pen for decorating pages and at $3, the Pilot Varsity Disposable Fountain Pen seemed like a good solution. It’s a thicker line than I’m used to and doesn’t give much line width variation. I also just added this gorgeous Pilot Kakuno Fountain Pen - Madoromi Series to my cart.
All Good Jotter Pen Set from Talking Out of Turn. These are also some of my favorite gifts to give.

The viral Amazon pens. The colors are so vivid.

Cheers to another year of writing by hand!
Ooo! I love that book and reading log journal!
These all look DELIGHTFUL! How do you go between noting things down on your phone and keeping notes in your journals? I find half my stuff is digital and half analog! 😫
