Happy Easter if you’re celebrating!
I had a couple of people say that my newsletters feel like a note from a pen pal and honestly, that’s the biggest compliment. That’s exactly the kind of warmth I’m trying to build in this Substack community.
I had Friday off work with the kids and they’re officially on a 2+ week Spring Break. We kicked things off with a picnic at the park and a trip to Target.
The Easter Bunny visited yesterday and we had our big Easter dinner then too. This next week at work will be BUSY as I wrap up some huge projects that have been occupying my headspace for months and prepare for vacation.
R - Reading
I’ve been so tired at night but I’m still reading a couple of chapters of Ender’s Game before bed and enjoying every minute!
A book about a gardening contest? Say less! Hedging Your Bets by Jayne Decker seemed like the perfect rom-com for what turned out to be a pretty dreary week. Thank goodness for a sunny and beautiful weekend!
Our current read-aloud is The Baby-Sitters Club: Claudia and the Bad Joke Graphic Novel! We picked this one up at B&N last weekend.
E - Eating
The Easter menu Clare shared in her dear, heartsnewsletter had me drooling. I’ve saved it to revisit next year!
We had our Easter dinner last night and this was our spread:
Ham
Pea salad
Biscuits + rolls
Deviled eggs
Green beans
Hashbrown casserole
Mac n cheese
Mini Bundt cakes
P - Playing
With sidewalk chalk! Bunny masterpiece by my husband who is equally artsy.
O - Obsessing over
A hack that
shared on her IG stories. This Tubby Todd All Over Ointment may not have healed my son’s baby eczema, but it sure did work a miracle on my dry hands overnight.R - Recommending
New to my TV rotation is Palm Royale on Apple TV+. It’s a period drama that follows Maxine as she tries to launch herself into Palm Beach high society. I’m currently 2 episodes in!
T - Treating myself to
New shoes! You might have seen these in my March Monthly Report. I’ve been wanting a pair of Gazelles forever and finally got to go to the mall and try them on for size. I went with the Gazelle bold. They have a thicker sole than the original Gazelles due to the platform style and more arch support than the Sambas. I have a high volume foot and they were true to size on me. If you have a more narrow foot, you might be able to size down half a size.

Happy Easter! I also am a big fan of the Tubby Todd AOO cream. Those Gazelles look gorgeous. They weren’t even on my radar but they are now!
Happy Easter! We had a lot of ham yesterday, woot woot. Also that Easter bunny chalk drawing is FIRE.
