R - Reading
Whew! This was a great reading week now that I’m back from vacation and on a routine again. I finished Birding with Benefits in paperback earlier in the week and immediately picked up Charlotte’s Web as part of my rereading project. I finished How to End a Love Story and the humor in Wedding Issues has been the perfect remedy for a heavier romance. I flipped through Health Nut by Jess Damuck and bookmarked a bunch of recipes. I might actually give this cookbook a slight edge over Salad Freak! On the Kid Lit side of things, I finished my read-aloud of The BSC: Claudia and the Bad Joke. My daughter thought that The Bike Lesson was the funniest book! I’m so glad The Berenstain Bears are a hit because this post from Sri has me thinking about what other series I might want to share with my kids.
E - Eating
$6 pizzas from The Fresh Market because sometimes it’s easier than making things from scratch
, , and have been sharing weekly meal plans in their newsletters so I’m scoping out inspiration for our May menu.P - Playing
The New York Times mini crossword puzzle. The Vox Crossword puzzles are also great and you can play without a subscription.
I’m also relearning Chess thanks to my husband’s latest hyperfixation.
O - Obsessing over
TTPD, obviously. All the Swiftie detectives were right. We did get two albums. My gut reaction is that The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived will be a clear favorite.
R - Recommending
The new Bluey episode “The Sign”. And yes, I’m bawling my eyes out with all the other Moms across the world.
T - Treating myself to
Fun Drink Friday! See the pizza comment above. My kids have gotten a little burnt out on homemade pizza + movie night on Fridays so I decided to switch things up a little bit and start Fun Drink Friday where I roll into the Sonic drive-thru and let them pick out whatever type of mini slush creation they can come up with.

Thank you for sharing my post! And damn, I’m so impressed with how much reading you got done!
I finished Bride! It was good and I wasn’t sure what to expect because it isn’t Ali Hazelwood’s normal stuff but I was pleasantly surprised. I love how she still got some STEM into it and her core writing style was still there. I did feel like the whodunit plot felt a little underbaked but overall I liked it a lot. How’s the audiobook version of it going?
Thank you for sharing about my meal plans!
We watched the new Bluey episode for the third time yesterday and I’m still finding new little Easter eggs. And it makes me sob every time. There’s a part at the end where Chilli is in the kitchen and it appears she looks from the peninsula to the floor in front of her, ya know… where Bluey took her first steps. I had resolved not to cry again but that broke me
