Hello, hello! I spent half of my week in Lake City, SC for the last of my leadership conference. They just finished up the annual ArtFields festival, a weeklong celebration of the Southeast’s artists. I’ve enjoyed seeing all the public art during my work trips and highly recommend you browse their website and view some of the amazing artwork.
I read the article Maycember: Why Does May Suck So Much for Moms? by Kathy Sisson for The Everymom this week and while I wouldn’t say May “sucks”, it is undeniably BUSY. This Mother’s Day, I’m giving you permission to skip participating in at least one event or themed dress-up day. Leave the house alone. Do something for yourself.

🎧Audio: Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry. I wasn’t even thinking this week when I picked up one of the Share a Coke bottles with the name Hayden on it. Mostly because my son pulled the full shopping cart down on him in the two seconds I looked away. Ultimate mom fail! Also… KIDS!!!
📕Physical Copy: I finished From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E. L. Konigsburg and started The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster. They’re due back at my library next week! From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler was the perfect pairing for The Met Gala on Monday night. I loved Lupita Nyong’o in Chanel, Laura Harrier in Gap Studio, and of course, Zendaya in Louis Vuitton.

O - Obsessing over
We received a Save the Date in the mail from some college friends this week and the stationery is KEY LIME green. It’s the most perfect color and I’m excited to have it proudly displayed on our fridge this season.

I taught 4th grade language arts one year and From the Mixed Up Files was part of our curriculum and I LOVED reading it with my kids. So hysterical and fun!
That nail color is so pretty!
