The Weekly R.E.P.O.R.T.
wk 48/52 - 2025
Welcome to The Weekly Report, a rundown of what I’m reading, eating, playing, obsessed with (or observing), recommending, and treating myself to during the week, curated by me (@overbookedmama), and delivered to your inbox Sunday mornings. Sometimes I include affiliate links to my Bookshop.org shelves. While The Weekly Report is currently a free perk of Overbooked Mama available to all subscribers, I genuinely appreciate all financial support, whether that be through a paid subscription or buying me a coffee to keep me fueled while I write. I’m so grateful you’re here!
Good morning!
I hope you were able to have some time off with your family and friends this week. I always do my Christmas shopping early, so I rarely feel the pull of the onslaught of Black Friday sales. One of my favorite parts of Thanksgiving is being able to spend time with family without the pressure of gift-giving. My husband and kids had the entire week off, so we’ve started decorating for Christmas. The past couple of years, we’ve taken a scaled-back approach that seems to be working for us — Christmas tree and stockings, a few handmade baubles, and lights outdoors. It’s manageable and feels like enough.
R - Reading
📲Kindle: I finished Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrell on Monday, and it was stunning. Absolutely breathtaking. Devastating. I felt every emotion of womanhood reading it.
I also would do well to remember that I can read faster if I read only one book at a time. I also finished A Theory of Dreaming by Ava Reid — an atmospheric gothic young adult novel that reads like a dark fairytale.
E - Eating
yakisoba and scallion pancakes
pesto pasta with buratta and Caesar salad
chicken picatta with wild rice and Caesar salad
Indian carry-out for my mother-in-law’s birthday
Thanksgiving dinner: homemade bread, pecan pie, turkey and dressing, mac n cheese, and green bean casserole
lots of leftovers
P - Playing
Maxton Hall S2
Only Murders in the Building S5
House of Guinness
Elf
Wicked (Pt. 1)
O - Obsessing over
how cute the crochet popcorn and cranberry garland I made turned out. It’s not perfectly executed, but it will work perfectly for our fireplace mantel at Christmastime. I followed the Delia Creates tutorial. I’m going to try this one next with a little help from my mom.
R - Recommending
T - Treating myself
to iced coffee at home. I added a Starbucks peppermint mocha to my mobile order cart the other day and immediately closed the app. There’s no world where I feel like $6.88 for a drink from a chain is worth it. I’m feeling increasingly disgruntled by the economy.
Hope you had a great week! December, here we come!

With you on forgetting that I can actually read pretty fast if I stick to one book, but it's rare for one to keep my attention completely until I finish it. I'm trying to decide if I want to read or watch Hamnet first.
I love the garland DIY thank you for sharing!!!
