Valentine’s Day Books for Toddlers

I’m back again with another reading list! Today I’m sharing all the books we are reading this February for Valentine’s Day. My kiddos are still under age 4 so most of these titles are still board books. I only added a few new Valentine’s Day themed books for kids to our collection this year to give as easy Valentine’s day gifts.
My plan is to slow down our book buying over the next year. We have a pretty incredible first library built up so I’m going to transition to just buying one book as a gift for major holidays. Please remind me I said this when you see me out and about at 2nd and Charles. I saw an idea on Instagram from another blogger (I can’t remember who right now) of stocking the shelves with seasonal titles from the local library. I think it’s a genius idea because it’s FREE and you can keep the books on your own shelves for about a month. It’s the perfect way to always have new seasonal titles to stock your shelves. I’m looking forward to spending more time at the library in the years to come. It’s one of my most vivid childhood memories and one I can’t wait to share with my own daughter.
Without further ado, here are a few ideas for Valentine’s Day books for Babies and Toddlers:
Huggy Kissy by Leslie Patricelli
Mama Loves You So by Terry Pierce
The Valentine’s Bears by Eve Bunting
I Love My Georgia Valentine by Marianne Richmond
The Biggest Valentine Ever by Steven Kroll
Bunny Roo, I Love You by Melissa Marr
Won’t You Be My Kissaroo? by Joanne Ryder
I Love You as Big as the World by David van Buren
Blanket of Love by Alyssa Satin Capucilli
Hug Machine by Scott Campbell
Paris: A Book of Shapes by Ashley Evanson
Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney
Beauty and the Beast: Les Petits Fairytales by Trixie Belle and Melissa Caruso-Scott
As you can see, I tried to pick books about love or that had lots of pink images, not just books strictly about Valentine’s Day. The best part of thinking outside of the holiday box and picking books based on themes is that a lot of the titles work for other holidays! A few of the titles would also make great Mother’s Day books or Easter books (lots of bunnies). What books are on your nursery shelves this month?
