I so LOVE this post!!! Thank you for sharing all these wonderful ways we can do our part (and fully recognizing that we need to hold our system accountable for doing *it's* part).

Side note: by some weird coincidence, my husband (who is big into climate news), was sitting next to a person in the recycling industry on the plane. It was pretty fascinating to learn (secondhand) how our waste gets recycled and what ends up happening to it. The sad part was that the cling film we use almost never gets recycled because it's just not worth it 😢.

Ooh yes! This is fascinating. I think about this often. I worked in digital archives for the art history department at my alma mater and one of the things I did was scan in film slides. We had to work with the sustainability office to find a solution to recycle them. A lot of the slides in color could not be recycled at the time due to the dyes. I also live in a municipality that just started a recycling program again. We recycle everything we can in our bin but I'm somewhat doubtful of what actually ends up being repurposed.
