That’s great to hear! Thanks for the feedback, Jules. I’m only 7th in line but it’ll be a couple of months still. I’ve heard such good things about it.
I used to listen to books on cd when I had a long commute but when I became a SAHM I never got into audiobooks. I don’t feel like I’m ever alone for chunks of time long enough to commit to an audiobook and I’m afraid I wouldn’t remember where I left off with audio. I am a visual learner too. But I do like an occasional podcast while I’m making dinner. Most of the moms in my book club do audiobooks along with kindle and or physical books. I’m wondering if I need to try audio again.
I completely understand that. My commute is 7 minutes so it doesn't work for audiobooks either. You should give them a go -- maybe while you're cooking to start. I also like to listen to them when I take a walk.
I love audiobooks! When my kid was first born I really despaired that I’d never recover my reading habit but audiobooks have been a lifesaver for me. It’s so nice to actually look forward to the “wasted” bits of time (waiting, commuting, playgrounds, etc) and have something enjoyable to look forward to in those moments.
I’m super excited to hear you enjoyed the new Beth O’Leary. She’s one of my favorites and I didn’t even know she had a new books. Thanks as always!
I completely agree. Audiobooks have allowed me to read more than I’ve ever imagined since having kids. You have to suspend disbelief some for the new Beth O’Leary but she’s an excellent storyteller. It was a fun ride!
Loved this list!! & Would love for you to check out my audiobook ANOTHER LIFE, which came out on Audible a year ago. The narrators (Erin Doherty & Kingsley Ben Adir) do such a gorgeous job of bringing my words to life.
The best audiobook I've listened to in recent months is called THE SHOUTS BENEATH by Paige Cowan-Hall. It's such a fun dive into the supernatural but it also has such a lot to say, sociopolitically. Highly recommend. x
"dissociating" 😂😂😂😂 DEAD. I love audiobooks and I've discovered I especially love (or rather, exclusively prefer!) romance on audio-- it's made a huge difference in my enjoyment of romance. I'll have to add a few of these to my TBR, I especially love a dual narrator situation.
Currently in an audiobook slump/preferring YouTube about journaling and podcasts about it books…and I’m kinda sad about it. I want to take in all the content lol. Right now I’m listening to His Face is the Sun which was an ALC from Libro as well as an arc from the publisher, but it’s not making me want to keep coming back. Thanks for your list-I’ll be looking for a few of these to see if it helps me get back to it.
Atmosphere worked great on audio. Enjoy!

If Julia Whelan is reading it, I am listening!!
I’m the narrator of Left of Forever and I can confirm…it’s amazing!!!
A celebrity in my comments! First of all congrats, Megan! Now I’m even more excited to read it.

Appreciate both recommendations! It’s been fun to follow along with your writing journal, especially the audiobook production.

I enjoy dual narrators and POVs as well, especially when the MMC is pining over his lady!

Thanks for reading!

I go through phases like that as well. I’m sure you will find your way back to audiobooks soon!
