Now I need to read Is She Going Out With Him?! I’m also curious to see how Alchemised plays out not only because it’s originally a fan fic but also because of its heavy Handmaid’s Tale themes. So will it be the first officially published book that’s fan fiction of TWO iconic books? Thoughts that keep me up lol
Sophie Cousens is quickly turning into one of my favorite authors. Loved that book (and all her others). Lizzy Dent is similar--I've been loving her books as well.
I'm reading Onyx Storm as we speak and regretting not doing a reread of Iron Flame first. I thought I remembered everything, but I can't keep all the characters straight. 😂
I love January reading months, so full of fresh opportunities and reading what we want! Yours was so good!!! I was pretty underwhelmed with Divine Rivals but your take on the second book and the deeper insights into the Gods has my interest piqued!
I think my expectations for the duology were too high due to what I saw on social media. It didn’t deliver the high stakes I expected from a fantasy or the worldbuilding you usually get with a historical fiction novel. There were so many beautiful and romantic lines written between the main characters but that’s about where my enjoyment of the story ended.
The graphic audio really helped me get through Iron Flame!! But to be honest I love Fourth Wing more than Iron Flame and Onyx Storm. I like them and the storyline but it somehow feels a bit dragged.

Good point there! I’m really curious to see what changes are made that it’s far enough from both books to be publishable!
So many books! I love it!
Maybe too many. But I've felt every day of this month. I don't understand how it is STILL January.
LOL I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!
First-Time Caller is on my radar!
The cover keeps drawing me in! Loved your Feb book release recs.
I still need to read Kilt Trip! I bought it last year and it's just been staring at me from my shelves.
It's an easy breezy read if you need a palette cleanser.

I still haven’t read anything by Lizzy Dent but I’d like to read Just One Taste!

It’s not too late! Especially since book 4 hasn’t been drafted. I highly support an Iron Flame reread and then maybe pick up Onyx Storm again.
It’s not a bad idea! And I kiiiiind of want to reread the whole series anyway 🙃

Glad to read Onyx Storm was your fave, to be honest I was a bit disappointed by the 2nd one :/
